The Permanent Scientific Museum for Animals, Birds and Butterflies

The museum is housed in an old school building within the St. Doumit Monastery, which was built in 1852 by Camelite fathers in traditional Italian architecture. The museum is home to an encyclopedic 4,000-strong butterfly collection, with specimens from all over the world, along with a collection of 184 bird and animal species from Lebanon.
