The Temples of Baalbek

Baalbek’s temples bear the traces of natural and manmade disasters which resulted in destruction and multiple restorations. Thanks to the efforts of archeologists and Lebanese, French, and German architects, the temples have preserved much of their beauty and glory. There are three main temples you can go see; the Great Temple of Jupiter, the Little Temple of Bacchus, and the Round Temple of Venus. A fourth temple dedicated to the god Mercury also exists, but only parts of its staircase survive today.
