North Lebanon

In Northern Lebanon, each season has its own private charm. The fresh summer breeze and clear autumn sky imbue this dramatically mountainous area with a quiet beauty. Our winter visitors are in for a special treat as our snow-covered northern mountains open for skiing and other winter sports.

If you are visiting Lebanon at the beginning of spring, be sure to travel to North Lebanon before the snow completely melts and the flora is in first bloom. You will enjoy the sweet perfume of budding almond trees, and the breathtaking sight of vast cyclamen and red poppy fields. The soft babbling sounds of fresh-water brooks, the lush mountain fields of clover, and the rich array of produce, including Lebanon’s famous mountain tomatoes, will set your senses buzzing.

Northern Lebanon includes the districts of Akkar, Tripoli, Zgharta, Bcharrey, Koura and Batroun. These areas are easily accessible from Beirut or Tripoli. However, if you are keen on taking a mountain trip, consider lodging in our first-class country clubs in Ehden, Tannourine, Douma, Bcharre or Sir ed-Danniyeh, which grant easy access to many natural wonders and regional attractions.
